  • Lighthouse Trail FKT

Also known as the Red Trail, "The Lighthouse Trail" on Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, is a challenging, roughly 44-kilometer point A to B coastal route composed of linked hiking trails following red trail markers. The trail starts at the iconic Swallowtail Lighthouse and finishes at the Southwest Head Lighthouse. The route features rugged cliffs, forests, unique trees, and stunning Bay of Fundy views, passing landmarks like Hole-in-the-Wall and the Whistle Lighthouse, with sections ranging from forested paths to rocky, exposed shorelines. On January 9th, 2026 McCluskey set out from the Swallowtail Lighthouse at 7:42am and finished at the Southwest Head Lighthouse with a total elapsed time of 7 hours 15 minutes and 58 seconds setting the Fastest Known Time on this hidden gem on the East Coast.

  • Dobson Trail FKT

The Dobson Trail is a 57.75 km hiking trail that runs from Riverview, New Brunswick to Fundy National Park. The trail is named after Dr. Art Dobson, who started the initiative to build the trail in 1959. The trail is the longest volunteer-maintained trail in Eastern Canada. On October 24th, 2025 McCluskey went out with a mission to set the unsupported Fastest Known Time. He left the trailhead in Riverview, NB at 8:27am and arrived at the trail end in Alma, NB on the border of Fundy National Park with a total elapsed time of 7hours 38minutes and 15seconds. McCluskey filled his Salomon flasks up at several brooks along the way and brought 8 protein bars and 6 gels for nutrition. The trail was very slippery and muddy therefore he regretted not bringing trail running poles but the mission was a success and is now holds the official unsupported Fastest Known Time.

  • Loonie Loops Hall of Fame

Loonie Loops is an ultra-trail endurance race hosted by Saint John Trail Running which loops a 3.1 km, technical trail around Ashburn Lake in Saint John, New Brunswick. Athletes can run this course for a 6, 12, or 24-hour event. The 24-hour event aka the “Hell-Diver” is the only one of its kind in New Brunswick. The event raises money for the YMCA and the course offers scenic views of the lake and Loon Island from a lookout point on a small hill. If an athlete completes 100K of distance during this event, they will be put up on the wall of fame at future events. McCluskey successfully completed over 111K his first and only time attending this unforgiving event securing him a top 10 overall position. This feat has inspired McCluskey to become an Ultra-Trail athlete, signing up for trail running events ranging from 50K to 100 Miles starting in 2026.

  • Fundy Footpath Sub 24 hour Hike

The Fundy Footpath is a challenging wilderness trail that starts at the Fundy National Park headquarters near Alma, New Brunswick and hugs the coastline to Fundy Trail suspension footbridge at Big Salmon River, near St. Martins, New Brunswick. The eastern and western sections of the Fundy Footpath form a continuous trail from beginning to end. The rugged Fundy terrain leads up and down from an elevation of 0 to 300m across a dozen ravines and 2 tidal rivers that can only be crossed during low tide. This is one of the last remaining coastal wilderness areas between Florida and Labrador, the views and wilderness experience are spectacular! The trail is typically hiked in 4 to 5 days. Brandon McCluskey had completed this hike for the first time in 23 hours and plans to return for the FKT to trail-run this iconic footpath.

  • Flavors 5K Course Record

The Flavors 5K has become a tradition in Grand Bay kicking off the annual Flavors Fest. This hilly but beautiful route is considered a tough 5K for fast times representing the laid back vibe of the town and shares some of its hidden gems along the way. Things like riverside views, nature trails, coastal decor and friendly neighbours are what make Grand Bay a place to call home. Mccluskey had taken the summer of 2025 to strategically organize this route & race to create community development. With an unfair advantage, McCluskey successfully set the course record with a time of 18:25.07 to crown him the first runner to lift the golden ice cream cone up to the town. Registration for Flavors 5K 2026 will open on the Run NB site early 2026 and will be announced on the Flavors Ice Cream Facebook page.
